I have been with USD257 for 4 years. My first year here, I was a 3^rd grade teacher. After that I was able to become the school counselor at Lincoln Elementary and work with our 3^rd and 4^th grade students. Now that we are all together at IES, I work with 3^rd-5^th grade students. I love getting to help students and that each day brings something new!

Although I am a school counselor now, I was a teacher for 19 years. I have taught every grade level from pre-k through 3^rd grade. I also have had the opportunity to teach in Arkansas and Colorado, as well as Kansas! I think having the opportunity to teach in other areas has given me ideas and skills that make me a well rounded School Counselor.

I am married to my husband, Chris, who works at Allen Community College. We have one daughter and she is in 4th grade here at Iola Elementary. A couple of years ago, my in-laws from California moved here to Iola! Now we all live in a house together along with our sweet dog, Rosie and our parakeets, Blueberry and Keylime.
