I began teaching at Iola Elementary in August of 2022 with the opening of the new school. I’m currently teaching 1st grade and learning new things every day.
I’ve been teaching since 2009 with a three year break (worked as an aide) and I’ve taught grades Prek-3rd along with college level. I started my career in Eureka, KS teaching kindergarten and then moved to Altoona, KS where I taught several grades. Before coming to Iola, I taught at Zion Lutheran School in Independence, KS. While there I taught 2nd grade reading and math as well as helping with preschool classes. I eventually took over the preschool director position.
I married my husband Jake in 2009 and we’ve got fur babies that keep us busy. We live outside Chanute on 68 acres where we hope to build our forever home one day.
