Project Bookshelf

Books Purchased

Project Bookshelf has used the donated funds to purchase new books about each of the 50 states, Native American tribes, board books for our preschool students, easy-to-read chapter books, and many non-fiction books. A total of 651 books have been donated to the Iola Elementary Library from donations from many individuals and area clubs.

A PROJECT OF USD 257 ALUMNI ENDOWMENT ASSOCIATION

Our mission is to raise money to refresh our books and bring the love and joy of reading to generations to come.

Project Bookshelf is transforming our Iola Elementary School library. This year, USD 257 combined three separate elementary libraries into one. As we make that transition, our librarians are evaluating the books on their relevancy, accuracy, and condition. Unfortunately, many of our books are in poor condition, because they have been loved so dearly by previous students.  As the fifth grade is rejoining our elementary school, books will need to be purchased for their interests and reading level.
